Q
therobotandthebeast asked:
Why do you think some people get so bent out of shape when a new adaptation of a character doesn't also adopt all of that characters attribute from the source materials? (also i bet you can't figure out out what i'm referencing with this Q :p )
A
People are invested in the characters, and often in the specific attributes of the characters that resemble themselves. There’s also just the general knee-jerk reaction to change of any kind—or, indeed, to any sort of live action casting announcement of such characters. We love to proclaim doom and gloom for these things—maybe it gets us out ahead of the curve, so that if something turns out to be bad, we’re not as disappointed or something.
